My Question or Issue

Normally Spotify works fine.  However, if it has been inactive for an hour or so there is very often a delay of 30 seconds before it plays a song.    The app appears to open OK but then displays "No internet connection available" for about 30 seconds before playing a song or displaying the Library.

Most of the time I am on my home WiFi (which is 150 Mbps).   It also happens if I am on 4G.     All other apps recognise and can use the internet fine.    This has been a problem throughout the last 5 or 6 updates.

A clean reinstall did not seem to help.

Hi there @rpb272,

Thank you for posting on the Community!

All mobile devices have a low power mode option that reduces background activity in order to conserve battery life. In some cases, it can interfere with your Spotify stream. So please head to your phone settings and deactivate all battery saving features you may have active.

Also, on your Spotify app settings turn off the Data Saver Mode. This mode can potentially result in pauses in music.

If these steps don't work, please send us a video showing how the app looks after being inactive. This way we can take a better look at the issue

Keep us posted 🙂
