Deleting all songs from computer

Deleting all songs from computer

Hi there,

I've used all the memory I can (1.81gb) for spotify on my android phone (Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V) and every time I try open the app it force closes. I've tried going into settings > applications > spotify and clearing the data but it still doesn't work. Is there any way to delete all the files on my phone from my PC so I can resync the songs I want again?

Cheers.

You can use a file explorer to delete the cache. You're looking for a folder called com.spotify.mobile.android.ui

It's usually located in \Phone\Android\data\

Thankyou for your response. Would I find this on my phone or on Spotify on my PC?

Cheers.

On your phone.

I have deleted it using Windows Explorer, after connecting my phone to the PC, however it still doesn't work. I can't seem to find the "com.spotify" file on my phone

Hi there,

So I just re-downloaded Spotify for my phone as I heard it's free, however I have a problem. It opens fine immediately after download, before I log in, and then once I log in (via Facebook) a message comes up about how there is not enough free disk space for Spotify to function properly, and it freezes on a blank screen before force closing. I know this is the problem, as when I go onto Spotify on my computer it tells me this -

So my question to you is thus - how can i delete synced songs (some of which are local files) from my android app without actually going onto the app? (as everytime I do it force closes). I have tried going onto my phone and deleting data from spotify, however there is only 24 KB of data or something, so clearly that is not the songs which I want to delete. I tried deleting the cache using Windows Explorer, but to no avail. Your help is much appreciated,

cheers.

it's not a file but a folder on your phone. Are you sure you haven't already deleted it when you cleared the cache? What does it show if you go to your android settings/apps/spotify under storage - total, data and cache?

Please don't start new threads for the same issue - it makes things incredibly disjointed and difficult to follow. I've merged this into the original thread.

Sorry mate. The app's now opening, but it's telling me that the disk is still full, and so I can only shuffle songs on my playlists instead of clicking them to play (is this normal as I dont have premium?) - what would you advise in order to create more space, deleting playlists or songs, or deleting other things off my phone (ie other apps)?

When I go into "Manage applications" (where you can usually uninstall spotify or delete the cache) the values are-

Total - 24.68 MB

Application - 24.64 MB

Data - 48 KB

And you can't clear the cache, as it's already at 0 Bytes.

So spotify is in the clear by the look of things. Sounds like you'll need to delete some other stuff to free up some space on your phone. If you go to your android settings/storage you'll be able to see what's using the most space which will help with your decisions.
