I'm kind of getting pissed off now.
No, none of the forum entries or official help files are helping. Yes, I have already cleared the Android cache, uninstalled, shut off device, removed the battery, then reinstalled everything.
I'm so, so very surprised this didn't help........
Laptop: Windows 7, up to date.
Android: Galaxy S4, 4.2.2 (up to date)
I have local MP3 files on both my laptop and my Android.
Yes, I have tried switching the offline mode on and off again.
Is the main problem that my Androic device is not showing up in my laptop Devices folder?
(YES, I am connected to the same Wifi on both).
In fact, the device has never, ever showed up.
Please help.

Instead of getting pissed off, try the following:
Hopfully it will now show under devices in the laptop client and you can start synching your playlists.
If it still doesn't show, please restart your router and, once it has rebooted, turn the wifi off and back on on the android.
Let me know how it goes.

Do you have any firewalls active on your computer (including Windows Firewall)?
If so can you try turning them completely off temporarily?

ugh, thanks.
Wouldn't have thought that my laptop thought my home network was a Public network and therefore the firewall blocked Spotify.... didn't have to disable the FW, just had to delete the rules for Spotify and then reopen the problem and enable everything on every network.
*shakes fist at Windows*
thanks all.
Haha - I find myself doing that pretty often too!
Glad its working! 🙂

My win7 decides that my home network should be a public one from time to time. Whilst annoying, it's happened enough times that at least I recognise the symptoms now 🙂
