My Question or Issue

I keep getting a disconnect between the spotify mobile app and its player. See video:

The controls still change the song but the time and display are not updated. More importantly, sometimes when I close the spotify app, it does not stop playing. I also lose the status bar controls so I can't hit "stop". I have to open the app again, wait a bit for it take control of the music, then I can stop it.

I would first try a clean reinstallation of Spotify. You can do so here: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/reinstallation-of-spotify/

I would also check and clear storage, and update the app if not done already.

After refreshing the app, I would check back again to see if it helps.
