Download or sync stuck on 77 of 98 always

Download or sync stuck on 77 of 98 always

Hello Folks,

Every so often Spotify does an update of what I presume is one of my playlists.

It always gets stuck on song 77 of 98.

It will remain stuck for days if I do not force close Spotify.

When I do that it is fine until the next time a sync happens automatically and once more Spotify is stuck again on that 77 th song, whatever that one is.

If I knew which one, I could remove it from the list to see what happens but I do not know how to work out what is downloading.

a)

Any ideas about the stuck issue?

b)

Is there a way to identify what is getting stuck/ what is downloading ?

Thanks

Hey there @Krammigs

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, does this always happen with the same playlist? If so, is it a large playlist? Additionally, we'd like to know if you're using any SD card or only the internal storage of your phone.

On another note, we'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If the issue resurfaces after the reinstall, we suggest that you follow these steps (if you have the Samsung Device Care installed on your phone):

1. Go to Device Care.
2. Tap Memory.
3. Tap Excluded apps.
4. Tap +.
5. Select Spotify and tap Add.

Lastly, restart your phone.

Let us knowhow it goes.

Sorry I missed your reply.

As mentioned the list is 98 songs and it gets stuck on number 77. Yes always the same list. Nope, no SD card being used.

There is no Device Care on this phone I'm afraid. I have reinstalled previously. Actually it has just auto downloaded a playlist, a different one, of 50 songs, without an issue.

It would be nice if Spotify made it clear what it was actually downloading.

Thanks for the response and info @Krammigs.

It's odd that the playlist gets stuck on a particular song. Could you remove it from the playlist and test redownloading it again?

If there's no difference, you can even create a new playlist with the same tracks as there may be an issue with this existing playlist. You can more easily do this on desktop (if it's possible) and you can check how to bulk copy songs in a playlist in the top answers in this thread

You did mention having performed a reinstall previously which is great, but we do recommend a clean reinstall from time to time as it's more detailed and includes steps to remove the cache. If the cache is corrupted it can cause different performance issues. Keep in mind that a reinstall removes all of the downloaded content.

Lastly, to determine which playlist(s) would start to download for offline listening, it would be these which you've clicked the arrow button next to . You can tap the green arrow button to manually remove downloaded content.

Appreciate the cooperation and keep us posted 🙂
