The link to explore the "Fiction" category of podcasts is not working.

The link to explore the "Fiction" category of podcasts is not working.

Bug for a few months now. Kept waiting for an update so posting.

Pixel 6a. Android 14. Spotify App version 8.9.86.551.

1. Tap "Search"
2. Tap "Podcasts"
3. Scroll to the bottom, and tap "See all"
4. Under "Arts & Entertainment", tap "Fiction"

Expected Behavior:
As with other categories, navigate to a landing page where one can explore podcasts in the "Fiction" category.

Actual behavior:
Navigates to a crash page that says "Browse isn't working right now" with playlists to peruse.

Thanks for the patience!

 

This should now be fixed, so it'd be great if you can double-check on your end and let us know. If you're still experiencing this, make sure that you're running the latest Spotify version as @OscarDC suggested already.

Thanks for reaching out.

 

This is quite strange. Is only that category affected? Is it only on Android? In any case, consider performing a clean reinstall to clear any damaged data that may be causing this. It's known to resolve a multitude of issues so hopefully this obscure one will be fixed that way too.

Thank you for your reply. I performed a clean reinstall as instructed in the link, but I still have the issue. The issue only occurs in this specific category, and I am able to reproduce it on Chrome on my Windows desktop. In the browser, it looks like the request loads for a while and then times out waiting for a reply from the server, though no errors are seen using the Network tab of Chrome DevTools.

We can confirm that the internal teams are already aware of the situation and are investigating it further, we appreciate your report. We don't have a specific date for this to be resolved, but we hope it will be as soon as possible.

We'd also recommend having your Spotify app updated, so you don't miss any improvements coming your way.
