Downloaded songs not playing online

Every time I download songs from my one playlist, it shows the green downward arrow beside every track and the tracks play offline (Spotify on offline mode and data/wifi off). If I play them immediately after downloading. About 30mins later, none of the songs work. It is as if I never downloaded them? Nothing shows up in the cache either. Have tried the tips in the Android troubleshooting thread. Have tried reinstalling Spotify, clearing the cache, redownloaded my one playlist about 5 times in the past 3 days, restarted my phone many times as well. I have also tried different storage options (device vs. external SD) and same thing happens either way.

Am I missing something? Or do I just need a new phone? 😞
