What devices are shown on this page? Why exactly do you turn off your Note?

I looked up this list already. It shows my android phone updated almost every day. What are the criteria for Spotify recognizing a device?

Sometimes ma battery is empty. Sometimes I reboot it to "clean" the system. The last days I changed the sim. All Events lead to same result - loss of offline data. Also the storage settings are changed. I have to set them back to external card. Spotify changes it to internal. Both are empty.

Hi there maksimo! Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Has this issue begun recently? Did the issue begun recently or only after the recent updates?

Did you choose your playlists to be kept offline via the desktop or Android app?

Is your account still Premium?

Some users have found that a complete uninstallation and then reintall solved the problem, have you tried that yet? It may help ๐Ÿ™‚

Did all of that. Uninstalled and installed Spotify. All Songs are downloaded via device. And account is still Premium.

I just started using premium few days ago. So the problem occurred from the beginning.

Thanks for all your replies.

I'm pretty sure that changing the SIM will cause spotify to see this as a new device. So if there are already 3 offline devices listed, you will lose your downloads. I'm not sure what else triggers this but I have had my phone listed as a new device daily recently - possibly as a result of firmware updates - which resulted in my losing my downloads (first time ever!). I just enabled the app permission "read phone status and identity" as this was off by default. No idea if this will make any difference but I figure it's worth a try.

All I can suggest is to keep an eye on your offline devices and delete all but the current one if you see your mobile listed multiple times.

Ok. It seems to work. I did following:

- Deleted all offline devices
- Deleted Cache and all data in Spotify settings
- I uninstalled and installed Spotify again

After installation set the storage to external card. Downloaded songs and switched Spotify to offline. Restarted device and badabum my songs are still there. Yiihaaa!

Funny thing: The list for offline devices is now empty. Even my android phone is not listed!?

Where can I set the app permission "read phone status and identity"? App asks for all required permissions before installation or not?

Thanks again everybody for helping. Very kind. I appreciate it.

Marshmallow changed the way permissions work. I set this one under application manager/spotify/permissions/all permissions.

Thank you.

Aaaarrrgh. Same behaviour again. Now the phone is listed in the offline list one time.

I restarted device for test purposes. Songs are gone. Storage is set to internal.........

If you are storing your downloads on an external SD card, try removing it and save a small playlisst to internal storage. See if you get the same issue.

Ok. It seems to keep the downloads on the internal storage.

It seems like every time I switch off the device while using external storage it is recognized as a new device.

OK
I have changed the SD Card recently. Changed it from a 32 GB to 64 GB. Copied all the data from the old one to the new one. Seems that there is the error. Some reference to the old card maybe instead to the new card?

Hi there Maksimo, does the problem persists in both internal and external storage? Or just internal ones?

If you copied the spotify cache folders from old to new card that won't have helped. Just to be sure, use the built-in file manager and find and delete the folder android/data/com.spotify.music on your SD card then restart your phone, launch spotify and make sure the storage option is set to external SD card.
Let's see how that goes.

I did a new complete clean installation like described in the link.

For now it works with external storage. Now I'm curious if a new entry in offline devices will occur. For now is only one entry. But it seems like there is a delay of an hour or so before new devices are listed.

Let me know how it goes. It bothers me too ๐Ÿ™‚
