Downloads on my playlists disappear and can't be re-downloaded

Downloads on my playlists disappear and can't be re-downloaded

I have Spotify premium. I created playlists that I download so I can listen to them off-line when I'm in an area with no mobile signal or WiFi. Every few weeks some of the songs on these playlists disappear. The download button at the top of the playlist screen shows green as if all the songs in the playlist are downloaded. If I click it or select remove downloads, the green button will go off. But if I click it again to try again to download the whole playlist, those songs that were originally missing stay missing. There seems no way to download those songs.
Spotify Livechat just say uninstall reinstall. That way I lose ALL downloads. Any ideas?

Hey there @StillAlive,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We understand you were advised to reinstall the app on the affected device. In this case, you can clear the cache of the app without reinstalling to see if you notice a difference. To do that, open the app, go to Settings and privacy by tapping your profile picture at the top-left> Storage> Clear cache.

Nonetheless, we strongly recommend you to perform a clean reinstall, so the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure additional cache is not leading to this inconvenience. As you mentioned, it's important to take into account that all your downloaded content will be removed.

If the above doesn't do the trick, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there?

Lastly, we'd like you to know we're monitoring similar behavior here. If perhaps that issue fits your scenario, we'd suggest you post there the info we're asking for. Make sure to check its status, so you can make sure you're sending complete info.

Keep us in the loop!
