Driving Mode Woes

So I've got a premium account on a Galaxy S8+ and I must be one of the unlucky ones to get the driving mode when connected to my truck. What a nuisance that is! 

Not only does the change not update the song displayed on my truck screen, ever, the simplified interface is borderline useless to me. I'm a frequent song flipper and can operate the old interface without looking. 

Is this going away anytime soon? I'm very seriously considering leaving Spotify if this isn't changed soon.

I was able to remove Driving Mode by doing the following: in Bluetooth Settings, find the device in question (in my case it is an aftermarket adapter).  Click the gear icon to pull up device details and turn off the Phone Calls  option.  Leave Media Audio on.  Not sure if it works for every device but it did the trick for me.
