Duplicate Apps On Phone?!?

Duplicate Apps On Phone?!?

Hey everyone I need some help please, I've had Spotify for years &  for some odd reason I have 2 Spotify Apps on my phone, they both open up the Spotify app though & I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling Spotify & it works but after a few minutes a duplicate Spotify app appears back on my list of apps. So I can't resolve the issue. If anyone has a solution or has the same issue please reply Thanks (LG Aristo, Android Nougat 7.0, Spotify 8.4.16.781 armv7)

Did your phone come with spotify preinstalled? Preinstalled software can only be disabled, not uninstalled and it will keep reappearing if your mobile provider or phone manufacturer updates it. All you can do is to disable it again.

No it didn't come pre-installed, I downloaded it from the Google play
store. The duplicate app just appeared like a but over a month ago & Idk
why.. I'm just wondering why it's there, I've removed everything from
Spotify off my phone & restarted it then re-downloaded the app many times
but after a few minutes the duplicate pops up again

Hi @Sk8rchris666!

Welcome to the Spotify Community.

  1. Can you try removing the app again? Then, head to My Files > Device Storage > Android > data > com.spotify.music.
  2. Delete that folder and then download the app again from the Play Store.

Let us know if it works.
