Equalizer Issues Bass Boost

Equalizer Issues Bass Boost

My Question or Issue

When enabling Equalizer, bass boost is now automatically on, making the music sound flat when its set at none, when sliding the bass boost enhancement all the way to the left again, it restores bass, turning it off. Going back into Equalizer turns bass boost back on making music sound flat once more when the value more than none already on the enhancement. This indicates that you have to slide the enhancement all the back to none everytime you select a new playlist, open Equalizer, or skipping too many songs to fast just to hear bass

Hi @AKEMIZU,

Thanks for reaching out. This is some strange behaviour, we were unable to reproduce this on our end. Could you send us a screen recording of the exact behaviour so we can see what happens? That will help us investigate this in detail. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

Keep us posted.

Are you new to the Community? Take a moment to introduce yourself!

i could attempt to provide a screen recording, but ill have to see if the
phone lets me, as new phones virtually make it impossible to record
copyrighted audio, when it comes to streaming services

heres my equalizer settings and how to replicate, ill attempt to screen record as i finally have time, but im sure my phone will just mute the audio as previously mentioned above id be surprised if it doesnt

Hey @AKEMIZU,

Thanks for the screenshots and for the info shared.

In this case, we understand that video recording this behavior might be difficult, but it'll help us visualize better what's happening on your side. For now, we'd like to take specific steps, so you don't need to worry about the audio. As mentioned above, you can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can watch it.

On another note, this seems to be the equalizer of your device settings. Would you mind double checking the equalizer of your device settings to check if there's an option that activates the bass when using it on Spotify?

Lastly, just to double-check, are you using headphones when noticing this behavior or does it happen when the playback comes directly from the mobile device's audio?

Keep us in the loop!
