Forces you to download new version - old offline files become unusable?

Forces you to download new version - old offline files become unusable?

Who thought it would be a good idea to force users to download the new version, without being able to use old offline files?

I just finished a 8 hour drive, that spotify ruined for me, due to the lack of music.

I had 58GB of music that is still on the card... Spotify is too dumb to delete the unusable old files.

I have a mobile internet plan with limited data and spent a long time downloading those playlists due to my quota, and now they force me to download it again.

Spotify is becoming less and less user-friendly. They don't even care about sorting search results, which is a very basic feature.

3+ Year premium account that has now had enough of this. Thank you for your service so far, this is not a direction I want to support at all.

Just be glad they didn't decide to arbitrarily cut off support for your device like so many other people!

I've just realized the fact they didn't delete the old music, too. So, the theory was that you had to redownload the music because the hack was related to cached songs. But that mustn't be the case, because they just left the music on there!

Seriously, one of the most inept reactions to a "hack" ever. Target could give Spotify advice on how to react to a systems breach.
