I recently got a new 2017 Ford Focus that has Sync3 and the app connection with Spotify can be patchy. I paired my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo) with the car and the car found Spotify in the apps, all good. Now, sometimes when I switch the car on, Spotify is found in the app list and other times no apps are found at all! After this, the only way I can get the car to see Spotify is to switch Bluetooth off on the phone, switch it back on and manually choose Ford Focus from the available paired devices. I have also had it when Spotify is found by the car, but after a few seconds the connection seems to be lost and the car automatically changes the source to AM radio and Spotify is missing from the app list. I try searching for apps again, but it states that no apps are found.
Has anyone else had problems like this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Same exact issues here with Pixel XL (128gb) Android 8.0 / Sync 3 latest firmware / Latest Spotify.
Same with my wifes Nexus 6 and my HP Laptop with bluetooth.
Except I cannot get Sync 3 to see Spotify ever, not even once. Other apps like Pandora work fine.
Also having this problem with a Motorola Droid Z Play and Sync3. Not sure if Ford or Spotify is the issue, but it's annoying.
I'm having the same problem with the connection. Also is there a way to search for artists or albums as I can only see the browse function
They've discontinued support for ford sync 3, so now you have to just use a normal bluetooth source and stream audio or Android Auto to be able to stream spotify. No more app 😞
I was wondering why I couldn't see my spotify app anymore. I can still play it, though. But still stinks!
Gutted. Why have they got rid of the app?
There is now a third party app that adds spotify on your Ford sync radio:
