Gapless playback is not gapless with local files

Hi!

I'm using the Android app and I've synced some live albums and mixtapes onto my device. I've enabled gapless playback but there's still a half a second or shorter gap between songs that ruin the listening experience. I also tried with crossfade set to 1 second which is better than the gap but in some cases the overlapping is causing offbeat and so on.

Is  there a way to remove that gap? Is Spotify doing anything about it? I think that gapless playback is a pretty basic and mandatory function to any music playing app so I'm not sure why it's not working as it should or why it's not implemented into the mobile app.
