Getting my android phone to recognise local files copied from desktop to android

Getting my android phone to recognise local files copied from desktop to android

I recently upgraded to a new phone, and on one of my playlists I have some local files from my desktop, which I then moved to my phone. The problem is, the files on my phone are greyed out, so I can't play them when I'm offline on my phone.

Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm not sure if I can force the spotify app to find local files on my phone or if I can move them to a specific folder on my phone.

Thanks

I read on a forum that you have to "download" the playlist to make it available offline. If the local files match the playlist, they should become available to listen. I haven't tried this myself yet.
