HALP if u can answer this you are a genius- Set playlist to ignore in terms of listening preferences

HALP if u can answer this you are a genius- Set playlist to ignore in terms of listening preferences

So here is what's going on. I have always loved the discover weekly and suggested playlists from Spotify it's the reason I started using the app. This last year I've begun playing a 'sleep' playlist for my daughter she asks for it every night and I leave it on through the night since it helps her sleep. As a result my listening activities from the algorithms point of view seem to be primarily soothing sleep sounds and I've watched in disappointment every week as my discover weekly went from being a treasure trove of awesome and relevant new music to the point now where its strictly reccomending soothing sleep music. I never click 'like' on any of the sleeo songs and I make a point to like music that is to my taste usually multiple times a day but this seems to be eclipsed by spending 8-10 hours a night with this playlist going.  There must be some way to set a playlist to be ignored when it comes to your tastes and suggestions. Just because I use a playlist to help my daughter sleep doesn't mean I want my entire account to be taken over by suggestions for similar stuff. I have no interest in it. It's at the point where I may just cancel the account completely since it no longer serves any special purpose for me.

Maybe try using a different account primarily for sleeping songs, and then one for personal use. I don’t think there is a way to stop having suggestions for specific stuff.

Hey folks!

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

If you don't want to keep getting suggestions based on this type of music, we'd recommend turning on a Private Session. Anything you listen to while being in a Private Session will not affect any of your recommendations.

You'll find the steps to enable private listening here.
