My Question or Issue

I'm using Spotify on my Android device (Android 13, Google Pixel 4a 5g) and my headphones don't quite put out enough volume. I bought a headphone amp to remedy this, so the aux cord goes from the phone into the amp, and then the headphones plug into another port on the amp.

When I'm using my amp, I'm not able to adjust equalizer settings in Spotify. I can only adjust the equalizer if the headphones are plugged directly into the phone. Is there any way to work around this issue?

When using a headphone amp with your Google Pixel 4a 5g, adjusting the equalizer settings in Spotify may not be possible. Try checking if the headphone amp itself has an equalizer or look for a system-wide equalizer in your phone's settings.
Let me know what you find and i'll fetch some more info,

Thank you for your assistance Prague.

I should specify, I can adjust the equalizer frequencies with the amp plugged in but I'm not able to adjust the Bass Boost or Surround sound settings. The amp itself doesn't have an equalizer and I couldn't find another way to access the equalizer besides in Spotify's settings.
