Hidden songs are still played via Connect/Chromecast

Why are Songs i have hidden from a playlist still played when i do streaming via Connect or Chromecast. This is super annoying. It works perfectly when listening on my iPhone/Mac directly

It's a good idea to try with another account. Are there any changes?

We'd suggest you also give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall. That way you can make sure the cache is not causing any issues.

It's also important to make sure that your Spotify version and device firmware are up-to-date.

Hi Ver and thanks for taking the time to look into that issue. Since I’m a software developer myself I dont think it is an issue with the client (they are updated automatically anyway). Like I said, I see that the song is hidden (the icon) when I look into a playlist on my iPhone or the Mac standalone app and if I listen to that playlist from my phone directly the song is skipped as expected. But… 99% of the time I use Spotify Connect or Chromecast to stream playlist in my flat directly from the speakers and that’s when the issue occurs. The hidden song is still played on those devices, even after months there’s no sync/or consideration of what I have excluded from playlists hence the feature is pretty much useless (and like I know from my work: it’s even worse than if the feature wouldnt exists at all). Hope this more understandable now. I wonder that this isnt reported by other users too??

Currently the Hide song function is not synced between Connect devices.

It seems that there are other users who'd like to see a cross-platform sync for this option. You can show your support for the idea here by adding your +Vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely it is to be implemented.
