Hidden songs lost after reinstall

Hidden songs lost after reinstall

After a reinstall, i have now lost all the songs I had hidden. Very annoying, as I had taken a long time to trim down hundreds of albums so i didnt have to listen songs i didn't like. How do I bring back hidden songs? Twice Spotify has done this, first by removing the old remove song feature. Close to leaving Spotify.

Hey there @simpo1000000

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

Keep in mind that when you hide a song on your mobile device, the song will automatically be made available for streaming if you log in through the desktop app and vice versa, regardless of the playlist you are in. Those songs should still be hidden and unplayable in the main device in which you hid them.

If this is not the case and the hidden songs are gone from your main device, could you let us know it's make, model, OS version and Spotify version so we can take a better look?

Keep us posted.

Hello, the problem is when I had to uninstall and reinstall Spotify on the same device. All hidden songs lost. Ridiculous!

Samsung galaxy s7, not sure where I find the operating system, but android 8.0.0 if that's the one, Spotify version 8.5.98.984.

Hi again @simpo1000000

Thanks for your reply.

Currently, hidden songs are stored in the app data on your device, so every time you reinstall the app those would get reset and this is expected behavior.

However, other users also think it would be a good idea to see this feature implemented and synced across devices. In this case, you can add your +VOTE and Subscribe to this thread. That way you can stay up-to-date with any relevant news about this.

If anything else comes up, we're always a message away.

Cheers!
