History isn't working

History isn't working

I tried logging off two times, reinstalling, clearing cache, turning the offline mode on and off, but nothing works. 

My history just randomly stops registering songs, and sometimes it goes on for days. 

When I opened spotify from my laptop, the history showed up ONLY from the point when I started listening on my laptop and ONLY on my laptop. Not on my phone. 

I still see every single track I listened to on my last fm account though.

Welcome to the Community and great job for already performing some troubleshooting steps. That's very helpful 🙂

 

To further investigate and test, it'd be great if you could try the following:

  • Test on another account - if possible, ask a relative or a friend to log in to their account both on your phone and laptop.
  • Keep Spotify open whilst logged in to the same account both on your phone and laptop so they sync via Connect. Play some content on your phone then on the laptop and vice versa, and then check if the Recently played section would sync across the devices.
  • Switch Private listening on and off on both devices, as this can help with resetting the listening history.
