Streaming music from Spotify on my Nexus 5 (fully up to date o/s and Spotify) via the headphone socket (into my HiFi amp) produces random glitchy / mobile-phone interference type noises every couple of minutes! It doesn't happen with downloaded tracks.
What's going on?
ps. it happens in airplane mode too so it's NOT actually mobile phone interference..... just Spotify being a massive turd!
Does it happen on your stock player as well? What about through phone speakers or bluetooth?
Can you try cleaning out the aux port with a cotton wool bud or pipe cleaner.
Ive got the same issue as you with a stock Nexus 5. It could be a problem with the phones audio decoding or It also could be related to streaming the music. It almost sounds like a UDP packet drop when I'm using a voip service.
I wonder.... What quality settings have you get set for Streaming and downloading?
Are you downloading in 'Extreme' but streaming in 'High' or 'Normal' ?
Can you try changing the stream quality to Extreme and see if it still happens.
I currently am streaming everything at extreme
Sure. Its a pretty sporadic occurance so it may take a while to see if that changes anything.
Same here on Nexus 5. Mine occurs with or without headphones and quality settings did not help. I've tried Danny's guide, same results. Really hope someone finds a solution.
I think changing it to high from extreme solved the problem. Ive tested it for a few weeks and I didnt notice any buzzyness. I turned it back to extreme and I heard a glitch within the hour. However I am just a sample size of 1...
I wonder what could be happening with the extreme codec? Does the audio buffer get filled prematurely?
