Adding my voice to this pile of displeasure. I -hate- the new autoplay noise. I also hate that the boxes for suggestions are huge now. I liked the smaller icons because I could see more options and pick what I wanted.
This is an awful "feature" and needs to be disabled/toggled. Technically it's a "preview", Autoplay is an actual feature you can enable/disable in the settings which automatically starts random audio when your playlist ends.
I posted a similar topic in the IOS section for iPhone users

I agree with all of the above emphatically! I clocked around 54k hours listening with Spotify last year and am actually the only one in my fam plan to have received this absolute TRASH update to the interface. Removed informed recommendations like the Daily Mixes, and listing history is harder to get to. An earlier post mentioned theorized this was an attempt to increase discovery, but I can tell you that my engagement has significantly been reduced. I only ever play my own saved lists or specifically search for an artist or song now instead of getting new recs off daily mixes, Discover Weekly, and other nuanced lists. I finally felt fed up enough with it to look into it today and am going to try rolling it back right now.
Verified v8.8.0.347 from December fixes it. Not certain if a more recent version may also remove the trash feed, I didn't trust the new year lol. Disabled updating in Play Store.
I tried to contact spotify chat help about this, but they just end the chat immediately when they hear my question. I wish there were an alternative...
Hi guys, I muted the cards yesterday and today it's stayed muted! Is that an upgrade?
I guess if there's no way to turn off this intrusive garbage I'll be cancelling my premium subscription. Extremely disappointed is an understatement!
Definitely the most annoying update in a long time, all of a sudden my homepage is just podcasts that I listened to once autoplaying. I just want it to show my playlists and maybe some of my followed artists/podcasts.
I just hate the new UI. I'm looking at options to move streaming services.
Testing 2 competing options now. Shame, because I've been a happy family subscriber for years. The lack of Hi-Res and the horrible UI has tipped me over the edge
Major dislike. Muted cards are unmuted when reopening the app, and now play WHILE I play other music so I have to go mute them regardless — two songs playing at once? Are the royalties really worth alienating your hardcore users, Spotify?
im a reasonable person and IM GOING TO FREAK OUT IF I CANT TURN THIS OFF!
Who in the world thought this would be a good idea? This is awful at every level. Please fix your regression ASAP.
Hi there, it was the same for me in the past week and the yesterday's update (8.8.28.409) reverted back to the much loved previous home screen. So there is hope for all and the pressure from the community definitely pays off! I'm turning off auto-update though, just in case...
Yes! Same for me (on iOS btw) thank you for sharing. What a relief.
Nice! It appears the Home Screen is not barraging me with auto-play anymore (on iOS Home Screen). It’s actually usable again. Thanks for fixing it, Spotify!

When scrolling through podcasts Spotify plays a preview of each show as I scroll past it. I can turn these off each time I launch Spotify and start scrolling, but how can I turn this feature off permanently?
