Solved!

How to turn off sound when switching songs in android. It's a loud ding.

When Spotify starts playing or switches songs it makes an audible ding sound in Android. Can't find option to disable in settings.

Hey @Dispatch,

Thanks for getting back to me. You can try turning sound off for Spotify's app notifications and see if that works. Make sure your OS is also updated.

Hey there, welcome to the Spotify Community!

As far as I know, there is no such feature present in the Spotify App. This might be related to the Android settings. Can you confirm if this happens only in the Spotify App or in other Apps or during other interactions as well?

There is a setting present in many Android ROMs where it plays a sound when you perform any action. Let me know your device/software name as well and I will see if there is any such option.

Thanks for the reply. This only happens with the Spotify app. I know it happens with Apple as well but there is an option to turn it off in Apple.

In Apple you do this

Spotify > Profile > Setting and Privacy > Playback and then turn off “Play Feedback Sounds"

That option doesn't exist in Android.

Thanks for the quick response @Dispatch can you try going into settings -> sound & vibration -> system sound/vibration control. And then turn off interaction sounds.

Let me know if that works. You can also try a clean-install of the App that tends to fix most issues.

Interaction sounds were already off. Unfortunately clean install didn't resolve.

Turning off notifications worked. Plus I realized I don't really need any notifications for it. Thank you very much

That is good to know @Dispatch. If you need anything else, let us know.

Yes yes! Thank you Amayy. I so rarely listen in the app but this totally works. It also explains why other users are reporting different sounds because it's tied to the individual settings.
