I Have Spotify Premium and I'm Having Issues with Local Files

I Have Spotify Premium and I'm Having Issues with Local Files

Hey all,

I have a Galaxy Note 3 and I'm having really annoying problems with local files. I'd add them, and then they would be grayed out, a few minutes later. Sometimes, I'd add them, and they'd go gray immediately. I read all the threads I could find about this, and tried to resolve things with methods mentioned there. Nothing seems to work.

  • I toggled with all those options, synch over cellular, setting a playlist to be available offline (via desktop), setting my phone to only play songs that were available offline.
  • Tried removing and inserting the songs back into the source folders listed under preferences.
  • Tried putting all of the local files into a playlist and syncing that to the phone, but all of them did not sync.
  • I even tried to update the Spotify apps on my phone and computer, but it was a no-go. I'd go back and forth with all this stuff.

I finally bit the bullet and re-installed everything. Signed out on my phone, deleted the app. Signed out on my PC, deleted the APP. Went under my account and removed the allowed devices. Re-installed everything. Looks like a new version of Spotify got installed on my phone, even though I updated it a day or so prior.

I try syncing my stuff again. All the files go on the phone. I'm thinking, finally, "YES! THAT'S IT!" I play them, they're working. I go to workout, and I play some of them, everything is screwed up. I'll click on one of the local file songs in my phone's spotify app, and a different local file song will start playing. This appeared to happen for about 5 of them (some songs would sync and some would sync, but turn gray, in the beginning). Turned off the phone, and restarted. I turn it back on, the songs that were playing other songs, when I clicked on them, were grayed out.

Just now, I tried to re-sync those songs, and the same thing happens. Immediately, when I press on them, they play. It appears that they finally synced correctly. A few minutes later, a different song would play. Jus so I'm clear on this, I'm saying that, I'll click on a song with a name like, "I'll Show You", and another song  I have, named "Fire" will play. Then, I'll turn the phone on and off and the songs will be grayed out.

How do I fix this? This has managed to frustrate the heck out of me. I don't want to leave Spotify because of this.
