Kudos to premium support staff and lingering issues: cache, downloaded playlists

Kudos to premium support staff and lingering issues: cache, downloaded playlists

About a month ago I submitted a support ticket for problems with Spotify on my Samsung Galaxy S III running Android 4.1.2. The worst issue was the constant buffering and stop/starting during playback. I have nothing but praise to the premium support staff. Over a period of 10+ days they helped me troubleshoot in every possible way. Their persistance paid off. After several tests and re-installations, I was able to play my playlists without hassles.

Lingering issues:

(1) Must a user go through the clear cache and re-installation every single month?

(2) I clearly must not understand what a "downloaded" playlist means. Why is there a waiting period between tracks? If the tracks are on the phone (or are they not?), then why the long, long delays in between tracks?

To answer your questions:

1. Shouldn't be neccessary. Cleaning up your cache on the rare occassion might be a good idea, but monthly sounds like overkill to me!

2. Not sure I quite understand this, are you getting playback gaps between tracks in offline playlists? How long is the gap?

Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

1. Cache

One of the Spotify reps told me he does it on his phone every month. I personally agree with you.

2. Offline playlist

The gaps are sometimes very long. Just to give you an example, in my 20-minute drive to work sometimes I can only hear 2 regular 3-4 minute songs. I find that unacceptable. If the darned list is on the phone, why the delay. Am I understanding this offline list correct? Shouldn't it play even without a phone signal?
