My Question or Issue

I'm having an issue where the Spotify Widget disappears on the Lock Screen after barely a second (see attached file).

All notification settings are set correctly in the settings of my phone. (Allowing notifications in general, allowing settings on Lock Screen).

I can see the widget for a split second but then it just disappears.

Anyone else having this issue?

Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a bug?

Any help is appreciated

Greetings Laszlo

Finally found the issue.

I looked over all settings once more. There actually was a setting that was just really hard to spot and not in the place I expected it to be.

Anyway I changed the setting and it works now.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks a lot for the help.

Hey @Laszlo3,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We appreciate the screen recording you attached to your post, it helps a lot. In order to start investigating this behavior, would you mind confirming if you've already performed a clean reinstall of the app? If not, we'd recommend following the steps mentioned in this article

If the issue persists, would you mind checking if changing or removing your phone's theme makes any difference? We'd recommend checking on this since some of them may change the layout, position or shape of your widgets and it could be affecting its proper behavior on the lock screen.

Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running.

Let us know how it goes.

Hey thanks for the reply,

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall the app.

I also changed the Lock Screen Background to a picture from my gallery instead of a default design from the device.

The issue remains.

My Spotify version is 9.0.12.567.

Edit: I have also tried using the "switch user" feature from my phone, creating a completely separate, new and clean virtual user as if using a new phone. I then downloaded the App and the issue still appears.

So I'm guessing it's a general bug on Android 15/Pixel 7 devices?

Hey @Laszlo3,

Thank you for your response.

To continue investigating this case and checking if it could be device-related, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your phone - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.

Also, would you mind checking on a different mobile device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from the same friend or family member to test it out.

We'll be waiting for your response.

When I had someone else use their account on my device the issue still remains.

When I logged in with my account on a different device, it worked just fine.

Hey there @Laszlo3,

Thanks for sending over some more details!

Just to make sure we cover all bases, as this also happens with another account but only on your device, could you double-check your device's battery settings? Make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using any battery optimization options.

It's also worth checking if Spotify has the permissions to run in the background, which can usually be adjusted through device settings. If an update is available for the device's OS, we suggest giving it a quick update as well, to see if you notice any difference.

Keep us posted!

What was the setting that you needed to change? I am having the exact same issue on my Pixel 9. Thank you!

Go to Settings > Scroll down to "Security and Privacy" > Scroll down to "More Security and Privacy" > Enable "Show media on lock screen"

This is what worked for me, hope it helps!
