My Question or Issue

My issue is that when audio using the Spotify app and using the headphone socket to output via either to a set of headphones or PC speaker the audio rate decreases drastically. Almost sounds like the sample rate is 11,000 Khz as opposed to CD quality.

I have narrowed this down to the Spotify app as no other apps on the device has this issue. I have also tested the same app version on my Samsung S10 with no issue.

It almost seems like there is a profile limiting audio capatilbities but so far I have not found a system settings that controls this.

Also the app has been removed and reinstalled as well as a factory reset on the device.

Any suggestions?

I am having a similar issue, only in reverse, with my Nokia 3.3.

When using the phone speakers, even when setting Spotiy to highest quality, it sounds worse than an old gramophone.  As soon as I plug in headphones/earphones it switches to being crystal clear.  I haven't altered any settings, etc. to explain the dip in quality.

And, same as the OP, no other app has this issue.

Same issue. I have exact same environment you have Bunnykrusher... Android 10, Premium account, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5, in fact my wife also have the same tablet model... same issue for her.

No issue when any other music apps.  Earphone  is really showing the issue although it is hard to tell from tablet speakers... but I would say is ain't perfect either.

It sound like there is crystal bell in the back and there is almost no low frequencies.

Tried same environment (same account, same earphones) on my Samsung A20 phone... it sound just perfect everytime.

I just tried the latest update to the Spotify app, still the same issue.

Just to let you know, this is still an issue even after performing a factory reset on the device.

Just in case you were considering this.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't thnking to factoty reset but since you did it, your advice is appreciated. Just tried Spotify once again.... same issue on both of my tablets.

I'll keep checking once in a while. Will let you know if anything change.... positively I hope.

Hi. Just so you know that I've been in contact with Spotify support over the last few days. Did quite extensive troubleshooting with them without any success. The issue has been sent to their second level support department. I'm waiting for development on their part ...
In the mean time, I find out that there is a "Spotify Lite" version in the Playstore. I didn't know this existed. I installed it on my tablet (did not deinstalled Spotify), using my same login credentials... guess what? It works perfectly with wired earphones. You may want to try on your device ans see. Let me know if you do.
For sure I informed Spotify support.... hope this path will help them identify the cause.
I'll keep you posted if anything.

Thanks for the follow up.

I will be trying the lite version at some point also.

Also I didn't know it existed either.

Hi. Good news from Spotify. They sent me this communication this afternoon ..
"" We've made some changes backstage that may have fixed your issue. Could you try logging out and back in again to see if there's any difference?""
I tried and it looks like the issue is gone. Sound crystal clear on my tablet with earphone.
I questioned a bit more and here is what they replied :
"" The changes we made were specific to your account however our team is working on a fix to be pushed out to all accounts in an upcoming update to the app. ""
So there is hope for you soon .... in the mean time you have Sportfy Lite.
Regards, Claude
