My Question or Issue

This album cover doesn't load in Android Auto.  Works fine in the app, but Android Auto screen is just gray when this album is playing.

Album covers should generally be displayed in Android Auto when using the Spotify app. However, there may be situations where album covers do not display correctly or are missing. This can happen due to various reasons such as a poor internet connection, a bug in the Spotify app or Android Auto, or an issue with the metadata of the specific album. If the issue persists, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your internet connection: Ensure that your phone has a stable internet connection, as a poor connection may cause album covers not to load or display incorrectly.
  • Clear cache and data of the Spotify app: Go to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Storage > Clear cache and Clear data. This will clear any cached data that may be causing the issue.
  • Check for app and system updates: Make sure both the Spotify app and Android Auto are up to date. If not, update them from the Google Play Store.
  • Reinstall the Spotify app: Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify app from the Google Play Store. This can sometimes fix any app-related issues.

Keep in mind that some album covers may not be available due to licensing or copyright issues, and in some cases, the artist or label may have chosen not to provide artwork for certain releases.

Thank you for your help.  Clearing the cache solved the problem.  Like you said, it must have gone looking for the data for the photo and not have been able to grab it due to signal at that time, then it just stuck with that going forward for the next day or so.  After clearing the cache it loaded normally.
