Music changes to things I never listen to

This is new. There are two issues. One is that the app stops playing whatever I have playing at the moment. There is no pattern to this behavior. It's playing and then it stops. The other and more mysterious problem is that it will suddenly stop what I am playing--usually American folk music--and start playing some hard rock music and even in another language, a kind of music that I've never played through Spotify. What the heck is going on?

The music switching could be due to the new Smart Shuffle option which was recently added to the app. When it's turned on, the shuffle button becomes green and it's supposed to add other songs to your queue which you might wanna hear. If you turn it off, your queue should then play as it typically would.

I'm not quite sure what sudden stops to the music could be caused by but there's a couple things you can try.

• restart your device
• log out and then back in
• remove the SD card.

Thanks. I'll look into those things. But I can't even imagine how removing
the SIM card would help.

Quick clarification, I'd said removing the SD card/memory card and not the SIM.

Yes you did. Sorry for the brain flop and false accusation. I don't see how
removing the SD card will matter anyway. I think Spotify has a significant
problem here. Suddenly interrupting what is playing mid-song with Russian
heavy metal is a Spotify problem, not something in the settings or my phone.
