Music is fading in and out all the time

My Question or Issue

 Since the last Spotify App update I'm having issues with the sound fading in and out constantly through a song. It usually happens when I get a notification, message etc. Then returns to normal volume but it's now constantly dropping in volume then returning to normal several times throughout a song when I haven't received a notification or message. I have closed down all other apps running in the background and still happening. This is when I'm playing through the speakers on the phone, plug in headphones or on bluetooth - either headphones or through my car. I've also turned of any music settings on my phone and still happening. It's super annoying, any ideas?
