Music keeps pausing

Music keeps pausing

The music in the app keeps randomly pausing. The app itself isn't crashing, just the music is stopping.

I've tried closing the app and clearly cache.

I've tried restarting the phone.

The only thing I haven't tried is uninstalling, because I have so much music downloaded.

This just started happening today. Yesterday was fine.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

 

I'll do my best to help out.

 

Since you don't want to reinstall the app and have to re-download your saved songs, you can try Logging out Everywhere. Next, reset the password on your account just in case. This will assure that you're the only one who has access to your account. After that log in only on your phone and check if the music keeps pausing. 

 

If that's the case, let us know if it's only happening with songs or with podcasts too, and if it happens at random or at a certain time in the track.

 

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

The same thing is happening to me. I've tried logging out everywhere, clearing the cache and data, uninstalling/reinstalling. Uninstalling seems to be the only thing that works but only lasts a couple hours. When I play something on the app, the play controls also don't show on the bottom of the screen (play/pause and name of song/band). This seems related to the pausing playback. Both issues have been going on for a couple weeks now and it's so frustrating.

Thanks for your post here and welcome to the Community!

We understand that you're experiencing break-ups when playing music on Spotify. Such hiccups could come about due to network instabilities, so make sure you're always having a good connection to the internet when streaming, preferably over a Wi-Fi network.

 

If your internet connectivity is stable, then we'd suggest you to also make a clean reinstall of the app, following the linked guide, as this is more thorough than the normal reinstall and ensures that no cached data (from previous installations) will cause interference with the new installation of your app. See if this will shake things up for the app and normalize its behavior.
