Hey,
just recently bought spotify and it is an awesome service.
I do have an issue with the mobile app on my HTC Desire running 2.3.3.
When the phone goes into standby mode and turns the screen off, the music starts to stutter after a few minutes of playback.
The stuttering starts with maybe a ten second pause, then thirty seconds of music playback.
If I don't do anything the pauses will increase in frequency to a point where its a ten second pause, ten seconds of music playback.
If I activate the phone it completely removes the issue and if I keep the phone active the stutter never occurs.
Exactly same problem here om my desire s.....hope somebody knows the solution.
Already tried to stop my energy saving function, but still the same
That seems to work so far 🙂 thank you
It seems like i responded too fast yesterday. Still the same problem today.
It's really driving me crazy
Lets hope there will be a solution soon, since i also pay for the software every month.......
I have a friend who has the Galaxy Nexus with the exact same issue. I believe he has discovered the issue is with Android version 4.0.1 and 4.0.2. It was resolved when he updated to 4.0.4. I'd recommend you try updating Android on your device.
Hi this was an issue last year with android 4 which affected all music playback but was seemingly fixed with the 4.04 release. So it maybe that your problem is caused by something else. Are you getting this issue when listening to music you have downloaded or streamed music?
Edit: I have android version 4.2.2. and if I go to settings/wifi/advanced and turn on "wi-fi optimisation" I get regular dropouts too so make sure that you have "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" on and Wi-Fi optimisation" off.

Still an issue with Android 4.0.4 (Kernel 3.0.15) on a Galaxy S3. Disabling power saving does not solve the issue.
Glad it's sorted for you 🙂
Hi,
Since the update to 0.6.4.47 Spotify just drains my battery, and the phone gets really hot whenever Spotify is playing music (and doing noting else/ blackscreen). It didn't happen before 0.6.4.47, bu I did have the issues of music stopping when Spotify was in background.
Might a power-saving feature be the cause of the stutter and music shutdown on the background on 0.6.4.46. If it was removed, that would solve the stutter and shutdown problems, but now the phone seems to be working at full processor speed whenever Spotify is on, that is no good either...
Regards,
Pablo
Funny that - I had a similar experience today on my Google Nexus 7. I had it playing music while I did other stuff and withn about 2 hours the battery was flat and it felt pretty warm. I'll keep a close eye on it tomorrow to see if it does the same.
Hmmm....it may have been musixmatch which crashed during this time. I shall investigate some more.
I'm having the exact some issue on HTS desire. It's been an issue for months, I'm getting really fed up of payng for a service that doesn't work properly. Did any one find a solution for this?
Also getting massively fed up with this too.
Considering cancelling my subscription, seeing as how mobile was a huge reason why I upgraded.
Guys, if you post a little more information, someone might be able to suggest a fix. Tell us exactly what the problem is, when it happens and what, if anything, you have tried to fix it.
It would also be good to know details of your mobile, android version and spotify version.

It's all well and good asking people to give this information, but I have in my thread here to no avail!
I'm sure you'll agree that "me too" in a thread where there's mention of stuttering, black screens and battery drain isn't helping anyone.
Remember too that the community is not an official support channell but often other users can often help resolve issues here. As I mentioned in your other thread, you can always get official support by using the contact form.
