My Equalizer looks & works differently to the normal one?

Solved!

My Equalizer looks & works differently to the normal one?

Hello - I've recently installed the Spotify app for Android, and the Equalizer functionality is not what I was expecting.

All of the Google searches I did in advance show a 6-band Equalizer with a green colour-scheme (I've attached an example), where each band can be adjusted separately (as well as offering presets).

When I open my Equalizer it has an orange colour-scheme, and a choice of 5 presets - and no way of manually adjusting different frequency bands (I've attached a screenshot).

None of the presets (or the default) come close to the sound I need - if I can't manually adjust the bands, then the sound is too bad for me to use the app.

I'd be grateful if anyone can explain what's going on - I can't find any screenshots like mine, and no mention of my version of the EQ or its presets.

Thanks

Hi @Orderly369,

Thank you for posting! We're happy to light some shed on the situation.

On Android devices, the equalizer can change depending on the device. This is because Spotify doesn't have a built-in equalizer. Instead, it uses the devices EQ and that's why it might change between devices.

Hope this clears things up. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.
