Phone keeps turning on and stealing focus when I'm not using the app (even when play w diff device)

Phone keeps turning on and stealing focus when I'm not using the app (even when play w diff device)

I'm using Spotify web on my laptop (Windows 10).  When tracks change or an advert plays (free a/c) my phone screen turns on (not consistent behaviour though).

Also when Spotify is in background adverts playing steals focus from whatever i'm doing on my phone.

It's really annoying and has caused a few issues with inadvertent screen presses and battery draining.

Samsung Galaxy S21 running Android 11.

Didn't do this on my Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android PIE.

I've turned OFF all the Samsung sleep optimisations etc (but I'd also done that on my old phone and didn't see the issue).

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Hi @unichaun,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting.

To start, please run a clean reinstall of the mobile app, as this one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

If this doesn't work, can you log in with another account, such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persists? Alternatively, you can create a free account here, just make sure you're logged out of your own account before creating a new one.

Let us know how this goes.

clean reinstall didn't help.  How will a new account help?
