My Local Files are not on my Phone!

My Local Files are not on my Phone!

I bought the new AC/DC Album, wanted it in an Spotify Playlist on my Android Phone. I can see the Tracks at the Spotify Android App, but they are not playable in on- an offline mode. Why?

Where did you buy it? Please read the support topic here for assistance setting up local file sync: Listen to local files

Make sure that you are on the same WiFi network and Windows & third party firewalls are configured to allow the Spotify connection through.

Another point to note is that sometimes if a track is stored locally & is also available to stream then when you sync to your device it will automatically use the Spotify streaming version but the data from your playlist. If for some reason the metadata such as track length differs this can cause conflict and break the track. In this instance you are best off removing the local file from your playlist on the desktop and adding the track from the Spotify server then re-sync. This should fix this issue.

I bought it at a record Store on Vinyl and CD. Imported the Tracks as Mp3 and linked them to Spotify as it is explained in the support forum.

They are playable on my mac via the android app, but not on my phone via wlan and in offline mode. They are not downloadable to my phone i think, because other Albums and playlists work.

OK, so you've got your playlist.. Have you marked it as 'Offline' on your phone whilst in the same WiFi network?

I marked it as 'Offline'. On Phone and on the Mac. Tried it with Wifi. The Download doesn´t start on the Phone. My Other local Music works, except some Taylor Swift Songs. I haven't found out more which do not work yet. Maybe it´s because they (Swift; AC/DC) aren't on Spotify!?

Is your device being displayed on the Mac app? If not, it may be that you're firewall is blocking the connection as it doesn't sound like local files are syncing properly. Can you disable any firewall and try again?

I'm bringing this up because the problem still hasn't been fixed.

Playlist with local files marked as "offline" does not sync. The feature must have been removed in a recent update, because it worked earlier this year.

I'm also bringing this up. I dropped from Premium to Free, but I wanted to know if there's a way to sync music that I own to my phone with Spotify. Especially songs that aren't in their catalog.

There is. You do need to be premium in order to sync local foles from your PC though. Please see the thread Subscription Comparison Chart for a comparison of the different subscription levels Spotify offer.

Thanks for the reply Daniel. It's a shame that I can't sync music I own without premium, but I guess I'll just have to live with it. If you don't mind me asking, do you know why there's the dichotomy for tablets vs. phones, especially with music I own? I'm ok shuffling, but it would really be nice to be able to shuffle music that I have bought and is in a playlist, even if Spotify doesn't have licensing for it.
