Hello. I like this update a lot, but it would be great if you could sort the lists, like you can on the computer software version. For example by artist or album etc.
Also, there is no widget anymore, which I thought was really handy on the older version. Now it seems to be just an app icon.
And would it be possible to control Spottily from the unlock-screen like the normal built-in player can? Perhaps this is just a HTC option, but if possible it is would also be really handy.
Thanks for the update, I think it is good!
@thepest wrote:Hmm, no widget or lockscreen controls on my Galaxy Nexus running stock ICS.
Someone else - either on this thread or one of the others - stated that they were able to get the lockscreen control working on the GNex after a reboot of the phone.
Tried that, still nothing.
It is still in Beta, so hopefully this'll get sorted at some point.

What 'Lock screen style' do you have and do you see the music controls for the stock Sense music player?
System Settings -> Personalize -> Lock screen style
I'm using the 'Wallpaper' one - perhaps one or all of the others override the music control widget with all the other stuff they want to display

Yea I thought that too, but I've tried them all and no success. Yea the stock one is showing, and spotify is showing up under the stock music app (the one that lists all the media apps)
Tried a reboot and still nothing. I'll have a fiddle after work and see what I find.
The main thing here, is this works on ICS. That's the biggest thing. I've had no crashes or problems (in the short time I've been messing around with it).
I do not get lock screen widget on my stock Galaxy Nexus even after reboot.
I also find in non intuitive. If I want to just play a platlist, I have to open that playlist then tap the first song of that playlist. Playing the music isn't an option on long tap or menu. It should be the easiest thing to do, and it's not.
I understand it's a beta, and it's not finished, and I look forward to the additions and enhancements that will come.

I second this. Noticed it when I wanted to start playing a playlist from the playlist screen (Xzibit, where are you?). Maybe pressing the musical note on the playlist, along with a context menu option to play, starts playing the playlist?

This is a GOOD idea and definitely seems sensilble. I've added it to the 'missing features' thread: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Mobile-Android/quot-Official-quot-new-application-beta-release-missing-feature/td-p/45383
Hmmm not sure I like the playlist split into "Downloaded" and "All". Because "All" really does mean all and not all-except-downloaded, since I tend to offline-sync everything most of my playlists are now listed twice.

Found the solution, also fixed my mates GNexus too. Clear the app data under settings and launch the app again (weirdly doesn't require you to log back in again?)
As I say, working on my HOX with sense and my friends GNexus on stock ICS. HTH.

Confirmed, this worked for me on my Gnex

Brilliant - added to my 'wishlist' thread: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Mobile-Android/quot-Official-quot-new-application-beta-release-missi...
First of all: Great update!
I am running the HTC One X - Build 1.28 OTA stock. Lockscreen controls worked right out of the box here, even with the preinstalled, official app. No data wipe needed.
In general, this update seems very very nice. It is ALOT smoother, Music playback is more intuitive, Interface is clean and beautiful.
Tho, I noticed ONE issue so far. If I start listening to music and bring the playback into the foreground, all is well. Then I switch the screen off and listen for a couple of minutes. I then switch songs via Lockscreen, but when I unlock the phone then, it goes right back into Spotify and there the title didnt change. It stays at the title I played before I locked the screen first, and the progress bar is frozen, too. Only changes if I change the song.
But other than that: Excellent update!

Sweet, totally worked for me too 🙂
Removed "Lockscreen controls on stock ICS." Clear App Data to enable.

Found another issue: in the Android status bar, I always have a "1 of 1" progress bar that doesn't disapear event if their is no synchronization activity anymore. Didn't found a way to remove it but to "force stop" spotify.
So i downloaded this today for my GN running the CM9 nightlies and I can't seem to close spotify, the app isn't running in my multitasking but in my notification bar it's still open. How do I close it?
actully my issue seems to be the same as the one above me, mine says 1 of 40
Superbe!
