Nexus 5 Spotify "No SD card, no room for data"

I see this issue was a problem about a year ago but I never had it on my previous phones. Suddenly, my phone will no longer run spotify. The app starts and I get a blank spotify background screen. After reinstalling or deleted app data I just get "Spotify found nowhere to put your data. Please check your SD card." Of course, the Nexus 5 doesn't have an SD card.

I dont get why Im paying for a service that I cant use right now. Is there any support other than community support for spotify?
