My Question or Issue

I used to get the option to watch an ad for 30 minutes of ad-free music but now 2 to 3 ads are played after just 3 songs.

Hey there @Vs89,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

To get the 30 min uninterrupted playback you need to keep the video ad in focus and you have to make sure not to navigate to another app, browser, etc.

It's also important to be careful of accidentally clicking the "No, thanks" button when prompted to watch the ad.

Hope this info helps. Let us know if your issue persists.

Even after watching the ads, I'm only able to listen to 2 songs before the ads come up again. The "No thanks" button isn't being displayed as well.

Hi again @Vs89

Thanks for getting back to us.

Would you mind letting us know if you notice any difference after performing a clean reinstall of the app? This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful for clearing any cache that might be causing issues.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you send over the Spotify version you're currently running?

Keep us posted.

Hey @Vs89,

Thanks for keeping us posted 🙂

Could you send us a video recording of what you're seeing? We'll investigate this further.

Keep is in the loop! We'll be right here if you have any questions.

Hi

I get ads like these (often 3 ads) after playing 2 songs instead of ad-free 30 minutes.

Hi @Vs89

Thanks for this info.

Would you mind letting us know if the same thing happens when you log into your account using a different device?

You can also give it a try using a different internet connection to see if the issue persists.

Keep us posted.

I listened to Spotify on my laptop and did not face this problem, but the music that I had listened to on my phone earlier was not updated under 'Recently Played'

Hey @Vs89,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

Could you ask a friend to log in their account in your phone to check if the issue persists with a different account?

Additionally, we suggest that you run a clean reinstall on your PC to ensure optimal performance.

We'll be waiting for your reply 🙂

Hi
The issue does not persist with a different account and I listen to music on Spotify web player on my PC so cannot reinstall it.
I did a clean reinstall on my phone once again but still facing the issue.

Hi again @Vs89

Thanks for your reply.

Just to confirm, have you tested this using a different internet connection?

If possible, could you try downloading the desktop app to see if you notice the same behavior?

Keep us posted.

Yes, I have tried this with a different internet connection.
The desktop app doesn't have this issue.

Hi @Vs89

Thanks for getting back to us.

Are you still having this issue on your phone?

Regarding the issue in the web player, could you let us know if your browser is up to date? If so, could you send over it's version?

Let us know how it goes.

Hi! I had said earlier that web player was working fine.
I'm still facing the issue on phone.

Hey @Vs89

Thanks for getting back to us.

We understand you experience this the same way on both the desktop app and the web player, so next thing you can try is if you experience this on a different mobile phone as well.

Try logging in to your Spotify account on another mobile device to check if the issue might be related to your phone. If it doesn't occur on a different device, we'd suggest making sure that your original device is up to speed with any software updates available.

Keep us in the loop here.
