Not letting me search online songs

My Question or Issue

 When I am connected to the internet, spotify will only let me search songs I have downloaded. If I have music in my recently played, I can access it and listen to it with my Wi-Fi, but it won't let me search anything. Some times it works and let's me search all of spotify but it rarely does that.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?
