Every time I listen to some music on desktop app, there's a great chance that now playing activity on android willl disappear. I don't know if it's because of buggy Spotify Connect feature of if there's some other reason. I have never seen such annoying bug in any streaming service.
It's almost impossible to resume some music in Android app after some time of inactivity cause the playing activity will just disappear.
Here's the easiest way to reproduce the bug: open Android app, then start playing music on Windows app. Close Android app, after this close Windows app. Open Android app and you'll see that playing activity (mini player) just disappeared.
The solution could be pretty simple: when user opens Android app, restore playing activity based on playing history instead of spotify connect data.
Hey there @harvasyuk,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
First up, we suggest that you try logging out and then logging back in to your account on both devices twice in a row. This will trigger a sync between your devices and account.
On another note, would you mind trying to start the playback from the phone and then switch to desktop to see if that makes the difference?
Keep us posted.
Thank you for your response.
I don't think that logging out every time when Connect breaks is an acceptable fix. Spotify Connect implementation is just bad. This problem needs to be adressed by software developers (people who write the source code). Spotify customers cannot do anything to permanently fix all problems with Connect.
Your second suggestion about starting the playback from the phone is pointless. Please, read my description more carefully.
Hey @harvasyuk,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
We understand where you're coming from. However, since there are some factors that may affect the proper behavior of the Connect feature, we need to first cover all the basics to continue investigating its possible causes. Taking this into account, would you mind confirming if you have a VPN activated on your PC? If so, could you check if turning it off makes any difference?
Also, could you check if on the Web Player the Connect feature has the same behavior?
If the issue persists, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout.
No VPN on any device.
Honestly, I don't care about the Web Player cause I don't ever intend to use it. It's inconvenient for me. The problem I described is about half-working Connect in Android/Windows apps.
Pixel 5 (latest updates), Spotify version - 8.8.50.466. Spotify Connect barely works for at least two years, so it doesn't really matter what Spotify version is installed.
PC - Windows 11 22H2 build 22621.1992 (latest at the moment of writing this reply). Spotify для Windows (64-розрядна) 1.2.15.828.g79f41970. No newer update available.
Why don't you open this idea to the rest of the Spotify community instead of making a support ticket out of it?
I already replied with all detail about my devices/versions and the reply was removed by the moderator. So find the reply among the removed stuff. I don't have time to write everything twice because of your incompetent moderators.
Hey @harvasyuk,
Thanks for getting back to us with this info.
Apologies, your reply was falsely marked as spam by our system. We've now forwarded your issue to the relevant team here at Spotify, however, we can't confirm when it will be addressed. In the meantime, please make sure to keep your app up-to-date.
Take care,
This issue still not fixed: every time I left Windows app opened but not playing anything for a few minutes, the playing activity in Android app disappears.
Are you going to fix it or you're still too buisy developing tiktok UI and other useless **bleep**?
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
