Odd disconnections from Android app with chromecast

Since a few weeks ago I have seen a lot of issues with my Spotify streaming to devices, I have my home PC, my android APP and before I could stream to my chromecast on my TV and control it on my PC, lower/raise volume, change tracks.. 

 

Now everything is behaving erratic, for example right now I'm streaming on my android app, I wanted to forward the track but soon as I press forward it shows that my chromecast is disconnected (white) and doesn't forward. It continues to play however an eventually the green connected color returns. So for fun I tried to pause and play again, now I am disconnected from chromecast.

 

The only thing that has changed on my end was me blocking google chromecasts DNS's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) because it was conflicting with my router's DNS settings which I use for VPN.

 

Also while over at my brothers last night I connected via bluetooth to his speaker system, and put on some playlists, during the few hours I was there Spotify stopped playing at least 3 times, and I had to go back and press play to keep the music going.

 

So that is bluetooth connection, spotify stops playing randomly, and at home using chromecast it stops playing and conflicts with any use of the PC app while streaming from my phone (using PC as a remote basically)

 

I'm at a loss, been a premium member for many years and this is the first time I have ever had issues with Spotify.
