Offline Storage (Android)

Offline Storage (Android)

I have Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and a 64Gb SD card. My phone is a Samsung SM-200JY and I can't use SD storage. I have tried the workaround restart methods and the only one that works is closing it, turning it off and removing the SD card, then reinserting it upon startup of spotify. However, the SD card disconnects as a viable storage device after a short time and reverts to internal storage. I cannot find any of the files for deletion under the given folder location. I have a lot of music and so an SD card is needed, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @JosiahDavidson6!

Thanks for getting in touch with the Spotify Community. We'd like to help.

Just to confirm, have you tried with a different SD card? Also, can you let us know the Spotify version you're using? We'll check.

In the mean time, please follow these steps:

  1. Head to Settings
  2. Apps
  3. Spotify
  4. Permissions and give Spotify "Storage" permission.

Let us know how it goes or, if you have any questions. We'll be here for you.

Sophia,

There is no option to for storage within the spotify settings and yes but it seems to be a problem with larger SD cards and mine is 64Gb.

Never mind. I researched and found out that sometimes SD cards don't work with android and got the most commonly working brand. That worked.
