I rooted my Galaxy S4 with Cyanogenmod to get the equalizer to work for local files, and the GUI was exactly the same. But then as CM has problems with bluetooth, I installed AOKP and now I have the older GUI where you can't scroll left or right to toggle between playlists, songs etc.

I'm running version 1.9.0.1273 on AOKP 4.4.4.

Mine just changed today also. I don't think it's something that can be reverted but is a change in the UI pushed from the Spotify side.
