Play controls disappear in app

Play controls have disappeared in the app in both standard and car mode.

Google Pixel 5 phone running Android 12.

Spotify app version 8.7.42.943

Controls reappear when uninstall and re-install app but this keeps happening. 

Apologies if this is not the right place to post but can't find any way to contact Spotify. Any suggestions from the community would also be welcomed.
