The play pause bar does not appear, cant stop the app from playing music
I'm having the same issue
I own a Samsung S22 Ultra and was experiencing the same issue of unable to see the 'Now Playing' bar at the bottom of the phone at times whenever I started to play songs/music for a few days. I was able to restore the feature after restarting the phone but it's so bothersome to keep doing when the problem happens repeatedly. I finally found a solution listed below.
1. Go to the setting on Spotify and look for 'Playback'.
2. Under 'Playback', turn on the toggle for 'Autoplay on this device', 'Autoplay on other devices' (for my Bluetooth connected speakers) and 'Canvas'.
3. Look for 'Devices' on setting. Under 'Devices', turn on the toggle for 'Spotify Connect in background'.
What mentioned above works for my phone and the 'Now Playing' bar is restored. It now appears on my phone all the time like before. I hope my solution works for everyone too. 🙂
Same here! Started yesterday, done it several times today. What is going on SPOTIFY??
Same here, I have a Samsung s10, only way to stop Spotify playing is to switch off phone. Also when connected to my car by Bluetooth, cannot change to previous or next song. Is this a Spotify issue?
Per the suggestion here, I turned on 'Autoplay on this device' and then after restarting my app, the player interface reappeared. However, after listening to a playlist, or dare I say, an album, I want to hear silence, not an autoplay of suggested tracks, which I'm afraid is now the cost of having said interface.
Spotify folks: please make better?
SAME AND ITS RUINING MY LIFE! SPOTIFY DO I HAVE TO SWITCH MUSIC PROVIDERS?
Same here. Please provide a solution..
Same here on a Galaxy S20. It's SO annoying! What's up with this Spotify!?
Same here on Galaxy S21 and when I use it via car stereo it used to show the song title, but now just plays with info gone. Really starting to get over Spotify. Even when I'm listening to it on the phone as soon as my screen shuts off the song stops, and when I click it back on it starts again. Only been happening for the last two weeks. Ready to get rid of Spotify.
Same here.
After delete and reinstall it works for 1 Playlist. Then no way to pause, turn off or see lyrics etc.
No Now Playing.
It's been over 3 days.
If this issue is not solved I will look for a new music provider.
Same here on a Pixel 6. When the Bluetooth disconnects, it will automatically switch to speakers so everyone in the room can hear, then I have to use Android to kill the app since there's no stop button.
Other than the suggestions I posted yesterday. I would like to share another way of restoring the 'Now Playing' bar at the bottom of my Samsung S22 Ultra. Close the app screen page when you don't see the bar at the bottom. Go to the Spotify app icon on your phone screen and tap it to have a fresh screen page. The 'Now Playing' bar will reappear. Do this each time the bar disappears. It's easier than restarting your phone. Hope it works for you. 🙂
I have the same issue on a Samsung S10.
Same issue here on a Samsung S22 ultra.
Same here - cannot pause or stop the song without closing the App. I have the Premium account - ready to cancel and go elsewhere (not that my paltry fee will change their world..) but this is super annoying - who thought it was an improvement? Spotify - PLEASE change this back...
Thank you so much for this post. I've had the same issue for days.
Yvonnegan, thanks but your solution from yesterday didn't work and please stop suggesting clumsy workarounds on behalf of Spotify, we want THEM to fix this properly. We pay a lot of money for our memberships and this needs to be fixed PROPERLY.
I'm experiencing this too!! On my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. It used to happen every once in a while and was fixed with a restart, now it's literally every time I use the app and click off the screen or connect to Bluetooth. I even tried a clean reinstall -- DIDN'T WORK.
Get it together Spotify this is ridiculous.
