Play/pause not working with Rayban Smart Glasses

My Question or Issue


So I just got the new Rayban smart glasses, and they have a 'touchpad' on the side to play/pause and skip tracks. This function works perfectly for YouTube, phone calls, and other apps but for some reason it doesn't for Spotify. I've tried restarting my phone, factory resetting the glasses, deleted Spotify cache etc but no luck. I feel like this is quite similar to other people having issues with their headsets not working with Spotify. I use my Bose QC35 headphones also with Spotify and never had an issue with their play/pause button interacting with Spotify. Please help if anyone has any suggestions!

So I was in the car today, and whilst my phone was connected via Bluetooth to the car the feature was working as intended... I mean the audio wasn't playing through the car, it was through my sunglasses but the feature was working as it is supposed to? How does it being connected to the car make a difference? This makes no sense...
