Playback stops and app freezes when connection changes on Nexus 5

Lately I have problems with playback on my android phone (Nexus 5). The playback often stops when phone's connection changes. E.g. when switching from wifi to mobile data, or when I lose connectivity when the car goes into tunel.

I listen to an off-line playlist, so the song's data is already in the phone, it does not have to be downloaded. I guess it has something to do with on-line verification of an account or something like that.

It is very annoying. I canceled my subscription to Google Music because of exactly that. Now the problem came to Spotify.

Is anyone else experiencing? Is there any possible fix for it? Or will I have to cancel my subscription and try to find some other music service again?
