Playlist goes back to earlier song for no apparent reason

I'm using Spotify premium on my PC at work and also my cell phone.  When I switch between them the music picks up where I left off usually -- but sometimes it'll go back to an earlier song in my playlist for no apparent reason. 

Is this happening to anyone else?  Am I doing something wrong to cause it?

Spotify will poll the servers to create the sync. Rather than eat your battery it does it on interbank rather than real time so sometimes you may get this behaviour.

When it happens to me, it goes so far back in the list though -- like it goes back 50 songs or more.  Seems like it should sync more often than that. 🙂

Ok. That's a bit excessive. I recommend you contact Spotify Support using the form here.

You will get an automated reply at first, however if you need to chase them just reply to the email as it does get monitored.

It did it again when I went to lunch.

Work PC and phone agreed I was on the same song.  I go out to my car, click "play here" so it continues there and it's still on the right song.

I go home, go inside and eat lunch.  Come back out to my car, Spotify goes literally 180 songs back in time (10 hours) and starts playing that. 

I think maybe my home PC was on Spotify and it told my phone to go back to the song it was last on?  I am not sure.  Will verify this next time I am home. 

[Edit: it did it again this morning, going back to the very same song it seems to always go back to.  I didn't go to my house last night -- so it's nothing to do with my home PC.   Definitely opening a support ticket now. :)]
