Playlist search and sort missing on my Android app

My Question or Issue:

An update changed the way you organizate and filter playlists and I was confused for like 2 weeks. I was just wondering if there is anyway that you can give people update information if you change around the UI again.

Pull down to search in playlist was removed. You can now find the search and sort options under the three dot menu in the top right corner:

Spotify is always having active A/B tests and implementing changes via staged rollouts. There are usually blog posts for bigger changes in the UI but no info on smaller ones.

Why was such a nice and easy system replaced with such an illogical and unnecessarily tedious system? and why is this system implemented only within the playlists, and not in the artists I follow for example?
